Gold in Gods Eyes

Admin- Kymberly Janelle April 16, 2013 Beauty, Health, Identity 1 Comment on Gold in Gods Eyes

Not thin enough. Not curvy enough. Not smart enough. Not talented enough. Not pretty enough…

The list could go on. The list I like to call, “You’re not good enough by the world’s standards — so try harder.” Don’t pretend you don’t know what list I’m talking about. The one that is so easy to hear on a daily basis– and how can you not?! It’s practically screaming from every direction we go. It shouts at us from the magazines in line at the grocery store, from the bigger than necessary Victoria Secret posters at the mall, from the millions of commercials on different weight loss tactics, from the perfect air-brushed actresses on television, from the latest fashion trends saying “if you show more skin guys will look at you.” Those are just some of the things we encounter daily! But you know what I’ve found? No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be good enough in the world’s eyes. The world’s idea of perfection is like an illusion. No matter what you do, you’ll never succeed. The voice just gets louder telling us we’re not good enough.

Satan loves to lie. In fact, I think I could say that his favorite saying to girls is, “You’re not good enough.” We were made to hold a unique and confident beauty, a beauty unlike anyone else, given by God for us to hold and to show His glory- and Satan HATES that! So he bombards us in this world trying to convince us we are far less from perfect. But who is he to say what is perfect? Who is the world to create the standard? The world has no say. The only one who can define perfection and beauty is the One who created it. And not only did God create these things, but He IS these things. He created YOU to be uniquely you, not like anyone else. Not like the model on the magazine cover, and not like your classmate you’re jealous of. He created a unique beauty for only YOU to behold, and gave you specific talents for you to use for His glory. There may be an intense pressure by the world to be perfect, but when it gets strong remember that only God can determine the standard for beauty and perfection, and He says you are MORE than good enough. In fact, if we have accepted salvation, then because of the blood that has cleansed us through Christ, God sees us as PERFECT and HOLY. The world may tell us that we’re far from perfect, but the Creator of the universe says that the woman He made you to be fits perfectly in His plan! Ladies, we’re gold in God’s eyes! So I challenge you to walk confidently in that!
